ImTOO Video Editor is actually a suite of video editing tools. Probably the name “editor” is too ambitious for this toolbox because it only allows joining, splitting and cutting video while other more complex operations are not available.
This suite includes three different applications, which can also be bought separately. There is a welcome screen whose only purpose is to facilitate the access to the component tools. In addition, general information about the program is also accessible from the initial screen. It also lets you change the interface language as well.
In order to combine several video clips, you need to open or just drag them to the timeline, where you can place them in the desired order. As an extra effect, you can add fade in/fade out transitions between the clips. However, no other effect is available.
If you have a large video file and you need to split it into various chunks, the application provides various ways to do it. There is the manual method, in which you can insert split points while you preview the film. However, you can also split your files automatically. First, you can set the program to split the video according to time limits. Second, instead of using time, you can create target files of a given size. Third, you can enter the number of segments to divide the source files into.
Another possibility is to extract segments from a video. Several different segments can be extracted from the same source file and they can also be combined to create a new video.
While it is true that ImTOO Video Editor allows performing useful basic editing operations on videos, it is far from meeting all the needs of real video edition. Therefore, its main advantage is not versatility. However, it is still easy enough for beginners to feel comfortable working with it.
